Happy Summer everyone. We have just had the first day of summer and the longest day of the year go by - but it has been summer here in Central Florida for quite some time. We have been having heat indexes in the low 100's - but tomorrow I am flying to Vancouver to somewhat different weather.

So here is part 2 of Fair Winds and Following Seas. In writing about the build up and going through of a hurricane I am trying to relate what it is like when you are watching one of them approach, and how, once you are 'in the cone' they seem to last a lifetime.
